In response to the rapidly changing circumstances associated with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a decision has been made to POSTPONE the Feathers 5K run/walk that was scheduled to take place on March 28, 2020 at Town Brookhaven.
Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) carefully weighed the risk to attendees and their families, coworkers, sponsors, and the general public. We feel strongly that postponing the 5K is the responsible action to take as the health and safety of everyone is our top priority.
The enthusiasm, effort and generosity shown by everyone since the Feathers 5K registration opened has been absolutely extraordinary! Although all of us undoubtedly share some disappointment of not being able to run/walk together on March 28th, we are planning to reschedule the 5K for August 15, 2020. ACCF will continue to monitor the health and safety recommendations of public health officials and local, state and federal leaders.

AUGUST 15, 2020 - TOWN BROOKHAVEN
The FEATHERS 5K is a community based and family friendly FUNDraiser event in which participants can “flock together” to help make the financial burden of cancer as light as a feather! The event will include snacks, beverages, participant t-shirts and awards for the top finishers. Proceeds from this event will be used to support Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation’s worthy mission.
The 5K is a run or walk race with chip timing. USA Track & Field has certified this road race course (certification code: GA20002DJ). There will be a short distance "fun run" for young children who are not participating in the 5K race.
People who want to contribute, but do not plan to run can still sign-up as a "Phantom Runner" or make an online donation. Participants can still create individual or team race and fundraiser pages.
Onsite check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and the event start time is 8:00 a.m. Due to the location of the 5K start point, you will need to drive down Peachtree Road and turn on Hermance Drive to access parking. There is free parking in parking lot across from LA Fitness--755 Brookhaven Ave NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319--and in the parking deck which directly next to the gym. The 5K start/registration is just a short walking distance from the parking deck (participants will meet on the green space which is across from Redefined Home Boutique and HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern). Race event management is being provided by Georgia Multisports Productions, LLC.
THANK YOU TO OUR CURRENT SPONSORS
The symbolism of ACCF’s logo is that our roots in the community are deep, and we continue to extend our outreach like the branches of a tree. The budding leaves symbolize the hope we strive to bring to local cancer survivors through financial assistance. The bird represents all of the ACCF donors, volunteers and supporters who continue to prove that every act of support makes a difference. The specific color of the bird is lavender, which represents cancer awareness of all kinds.
