Lets flock together on June 8, 2024 for the FEATHERS 5K, a community based and family friendly FUNDraiser event that benefits the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation's Financial Assistance Program.  Together we can help make the financial burden of cancer as light as a feather!

TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation's Feathers 5K is a community based and family friendly fund run and walk in which participants can "flock together" to help make the financial burden of cancer as light as a feather! The Feathers 5K will take place on Saturday, June 8th at 8:00 a.m. at Oglethorpe University

The Feathers 5K benefits the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF), a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce the additional stress that a cancer diagnosis could bring by providing assistance to patients in financial need. ACCF is dedicated to providing this critical financial assistance to adults living with cancer across our 17-county metro Atlanta service area. In 2023, ACCF provided over $400,000 in assistance to more than 1,500 metro Atlanta cancer patients in need.

RACE PACKET PICK-UP:  Race packets can be picked-up on Thursday, June 6th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Big Peach Ride + Run in Brookhaven.  Please note that t-shirts and swag bags will not be mailed.  T-shirts and packets will need to be picked-up from the race packet pick-up location, at the event or from a designated Atlanta Cancer Care office after the race (this includes Phantom Participants).

REGISTER:  Please register early to guarantee your t-shirt size and the best price.  There is a price increase after May 5, 2024 to $45 and race day is $50.

RACE DAY:  Race day registration and packet pick-up opens at 7:00 AM.  We strongly suggest that participants arrive and park by 7:30 AM.  Official announcements start at 7:35 and will include special recognition as well as pre-race warm-up/stretching.  The main 5K walk/run will begin promptly at 8:00 AM.  Strollers are allowed.  A short “fun run” for young children will be held at 8:10 AM and includes prizes.

It is a “FEATHERS” 5K so plan to have fun and be camera ready.  There will be step-and-repeat banner to take individual and group photos.

PARKING:  Participants will use the main entrance of Oglethorpe University at 4484 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319.  There will be signs directing you to the designated parking lots.  Parking is free.

POST-RACE:  Directly following the race there will be awards given by age category.  Refuel with snacks from our food sponsors.

SPONSORS:  We welcome event sponsors and in-kind donations.  Please contact Bryan Miller at [email protected]

ACCF Primary Logo

The symbolism of ACCF’s logo is that our roots in the community are deep, and we continue to extend our outreach like the branches of a tree. The budding leaves symbolize the hope we strive to bring to local cancer survivors through financial assistance. The bird represents all of the ACCF donors, volunteers and supporters who continue to prove that every act of support makes a difference. The specific color of the bird is lavender, which represents cancer awareness of all kinds.
